Travel and Tourism had a busy end to 2025, with trips to both Longleat Safari Park and a residential visit to Edinburgh. These trips brought the travel and tourism industry to life for our students, as they gained a better understanding of how visitor attractions operate and who the typical visitors are. They analysed how each attraction meets the diverse range of needs of its visitors.
The trip to Longleat was ideal for helping them with the coursework aspect of their course, and Edinburgh was a great opportunity to visit multiple heritage and entertainment attractions over three days. The group visited Edinburgh Castle, the Dungeons, the Museum of Scotland, and took a tour of Edinburgh's many historical sites on the Edinburgh Big Bus Tour. They also enjoyed a talk from the Regional Director of 'Visit Scotland' on the value of tourism to Edinburgh, and were there at the perfect time to enjoy the Christmas markets and purchase a gift or two.
